Benedikt Sommerhoff

Benedikt Sommerhoff leads the Quality and Innovation division at DGQ. He observes, analyzes, and interprets paradigm shifts and trends in society and the economy, focusing on their implications for quality and sustainability management. Together with experts from DGQ’s network of practitioners and academics, he develops, pilots, and teaches innovative concepts and methods. Since mid-2024, he has also served as editor of the trade journal QZ published by Hanser Verlag. Sommerhoff studied mechanical engineering with a focus on quality assurance at RWTH Aachen. He began his professional career as a quality engineer for an automotive supplier and has held both specialist and leadership roles at DGQ for over 25 years. In parallel, he earned his doctorate at the University of Wuppertal on the topic of “The Transformation of the Quality Manager’s Professional Profile.”
